My inspiration comes from catching a color, shadow or shape that intrigues me. Sometimes it's a tree, rock formation or misty landscape and other times it might be a building, window, door or bridge structure.
If its interesting to me I will take photographs to work from and make thumbnail sketches of an idea or feeling.

Born in Tennessee and raised in NYC by my American mother and my Chinese father. Our home held a collection of fine arts and crafts from Asia and Appalachia.
My childhood was filled with artists, trips to art museums and art galleries. This encouraged me to pursue careers in Commercial Art, Fashion Design and Art Education.
My move back t

I work in acrylic, mixed media, pen and ink, and assemblage. I like simplicity of shape, color and line to express my ideas and concepts.
My acrylic paintings are colorful with simple forms, architectural detail, landscape and an occasional lone figure.
In my mixed media work I combine acrylic paint, layered papers, cloth and other ephemer

Assemblages are created when I decide on a theme or an interesting object and then arrange chosen objects before achieving the composition I desire. Some are hanging and others are standing pieces.
